Kings Highway School recently tried a new approach to its One School, One Book experience. After a week of clues building excitement about the mystery book, the big reveal took place with buddy classes gathering to listen to Millie Fleur’s Poison Garden by Christy Mandin. Each student in the building had the opportunity to take the book home and write a special message inside before passing it along to the next family. Throughout the following week, students participated in a variety of connected activities. Mr. Soper, the art teacher, guided students in creating poisonous plant collages, which were then added to a vibrant community garden display outside the library.
