Buddy classes at Kings Highway School found meaningful ways to learn about and honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Ms. Malizia’s second-grade class partnered with Ms. Bucciero’s fourth-grade class, and Ms. Johnson’s class joined Ms. Shugrue’s class to read Little People, Big Dreams: Martin Luther King Jr. by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara. After discussing how Dr. King was an upstander, students reflected on their own hopes for KHS, just as he had a dream for our country. Students brainstormed and created puzzle pieces titled, “My dream for my school is…” Joined together,  the pieces symbolically connect everyone's dreams into one shared community vision.
