At Kings Highway School, we have been actively working to promote student voices, and three fifth graders recently took the lead in an inspiring initiative. They visited a former teacher's first-grade classroom to plan and lead a kindness activity. After reading aloud to the students, they introduced a "kindness gumball machine," where each day a student pulls out a gumball with a word representing the goal for spreading kindness that day. Following this, they engaged the class in creating "kindness bubble gum" wrappers with positive messages. These wrappers were then hidden around the school to spread kindness and positivity throughout the community.
