First graders were busy in the KHS Maker Space as they were challenged to build a tall ski jump for a skier* to successfully use. Collaborative groups got busy building with Unifix cubes, Keva Planks, paper, tape, cardboard, and scissors. They paid strict attention to the limits.
- All ramps/jumps should be made of paper
- A skier can’t fall off the side of a ramp and be considered successful.
- The ski jump has to be free standing- not leaning on another structure or held up
The results were impressive!
