In February, Kings Highway School celebrated Black History Month. Throughout the month, students learned about influential Black individuals from both the past and present. Additionally, interested students gathered after school to deepen their understanding. Participants explored the culture, history, art, and Southern culinary traditions of the Gee’s Bend Quilters through the picture book Pearl and Her Gee’s Bend Quilt by Tangular Irby.
