Fifth grade Workshop students culminated a semester long study of the structure of bridges by sharing hand made scale models of a chosen bridge, including the Brooklyn Bridge, the new Tappan Zee (aka Mario Cuomo Bridge), the Forth Bridge, the Infinity Pedestrian Bridge, and the Rio Antirrio Bridge. The students emphasized various aspects of the bridges in their presentations, including the stories behind the construction, the mathematics involved, and the physics behind the specific structures. The presentations wholly reflected the diverse passions and interests of this group.
