Kings Highway School began the year by coming together around a whole-school read aloud of The Sweater by Larissa Theule. This beautiful story illustrates how every community member brings unique gifts and how, when those gifts come together, they create something even more meaningful. Across classrooms, students engaged in thoughtful conversations about the story, the gifts they bring to KHS, and the ways their individual actions contribute to our school community. Each student and staff member identified a gift they bring to KHS, which was added to our Identity Wall as a visual reminder that every gift matters to the whole- a mantra we will work to bring to life this year!

Colorful paper puzzle pieces with words such as kindness, helping, caring, sharing, and friendship surround the book The Sweater: A Story of Community.
