Families at Kings Highway School gathered for another morning of making a difference. To support Circle of Care, we held our first ever Rise and Bead event to make bracelets and build awareness for children who have cancer. Families had fun choosing an inspiring word and beads to create their own unique bracelet.
Mrs. Martin's 2nd grade class and Mrs. Chu/ Mr. Wright's 4th grade class participated in a buddy activity where they learned about Kente Cloths. The term "Kente" derives from the Asante word 'kenten,' which means basket. The cloth originates from the African country Ghana. Each cloth has a unique set of color/pattern combinations. The children learned about patterns before they were given their own cloth to color. Their finished joint cloth was hung up for all to admire!
