Welcome to Kings Highway Elementary School
In grades K–5, students acquire foundational knowledge and skills, develop critical thinking and problem solving skills and experience a love of learning that will last a lifetime. Although the focus of elementary education is reading, writing, and mathematics, the elementary school curriculum also incorporates science, social studies, health, Spanish, technology, art, music and physical fitness. The primary goal of our literacy and mathematics programs is to turn kids into life-long, confident readers, writers, and mathematicians who display both agency and independence.

KHS students have been introduced to a schoolwide goal that emphasizes being engaged learners and positive community members, along with the important role they play in helping us achieve it. Teachers are exploring our goal more deeply in classrooms so students can develop a better understanding of what it looks like in practice. Throughout the month, staff will be recognizing students and classes who demonstrate behaviors connected to the three components of our goal, helping make KHS a place where everyone learns, grows, and belongs.
