Teacher Grants & Enrichments
The PTA’s mission is to support and strengthen the educational experience of all students at Kings Highway School. A portion of the funds raised by the KHS PTA are reserved for Cheetah Grants and Enrichment Resource Grants.
The Cheetah Grant program is to be used by teachers and administrators for new and innovative programs which enrich the curriculum and bring new ideas to Kings Highway School. Teachers are encouraged to apply for the Cheetah Grant, by clicking here!
The Enrichment Resource Grant provides enrichment materials and supplies for the classroom.
The KHS PTA challenges teachers, students, parents and administrators to push the envelope and imagine new ways to enhance learning.
Author Visit: Sophie Blackall
We are excited to welcome Sophie Blackall to KHS! She has illustrated over 30 children’s books, including Finding Winnie (Caldecott Medal winner), Hello Lighthouse, and the Ivy + Bean series. Ms. Blackall will sign and personalize books on the day of her visit. Purchased books will be sent home with the students after the visit. Please note if more than one book is ordered per family they will all be sent home with the oldest student. All purchases help fund the Author Visit Program.

Big Red Lollipop (Gr2-4) Birthday parties and sisters! With cultural differences that make for little disasters, as well as hard lessons learned, Rubina and Sana (the sisters) are better for it all.
Winnie’s Great War (Gr3-6) is an imaginative and warm novel (256pp) based on the real wartime journey of the baby bear Winnie (in Finding Winnie). Katherine Applegate called this book to cherish “an incandescent celebration of friendship and courage.” Told from Winnie’s perspective.
